Ethically Sourced - Directly From Producers

About 90% of coffee producers depend on coffee as their livelihood, meaning they often have no choice but to sell their goods at market value, whether favourable or not. At Tinto, we commit ourselves to providing these producers with favourable, measurable, and consistent pricing, so that they too can experience stability and prosperity.

We source our coffee directly from the Huila region of Colombia, in the Eastern Range of the Colombian Andes mountains, a place widely recognized within the specialty coffee world for its exceptional growing conditions and consistent high-quality coffees. With its high elevations, rich volcanic soil, and ideal climate, Huila produces coffees known for their clarity, sweetness, and complex flavour profiles. The region is home to many small independent producers whose attention to detail and dedication to their craft have helped shape Colombia’s global reputation as a leader in specialty coffee.

We support local producers in the Huila coffee region by buying directly from Heiller's family childhood farm, relative's farm and other producers in the region. Our relationship with the coffee producers from whom we source our coffee is the core of our business. We focus on working directly with producers, fostering these relationships over time while collaboratively maintaining and improving the quality of each harvest. By staying closely connected throughout the process, we’re able to better understand the challenges producers face and support them in ways that are both practical and meaningful.

We import our coffee directly, allowing for greater transparency and accountability on both ends of the supply chain. The only outsourcing between farm and roastery is a trusted milling partner, whose role is to ensure the coffee is properly selected and arrives to us at the highest possible quality.

At Tinto, we continuously strive towards increasing the benefits for the coffee producers. We focus on making a significant and lasting impact with the producers we know we can—building something sustainable together, one harvest at a time.
